Nick Crowell - Assistant Men's Coach Co-Director

Entering into his fifth season, assistant coach Nick Crowell continues to have a profound impact on the Florida State tennis program. In 2007, Crowell helped lead the No. 10 Seminoles to their highest national ranking in program history after defeating the Florida Gators for the first time in 10 years. After boasting the No. 1 recruiting class in 2006, Crowell was named the ITA Mideast Region Men’s Tennis Assistant Coach of the Year and became a finalist for the national award. Crowell’s dedication to High Performance and Seminole Tennis Camps has allowed the tennis community to flourish in Tallahassee.  Crowell began his collegiate tennis career at the University of Texas where he earned All-American honors in doubles and also won the ITA National Indoor Doubles Championships.  He later went on to achieve a career high World Ranking in doubles of #370 in the world. 

 

Dwayne Hultquist - Head Coach Co-Director

Under Dwayne Hultquist's leadership, Florida State men's tennis has emerged as one of the top twenty programs in the nation. Last season, Hultquist led the No. 10 Seminoles to its highest national ranking in program history as well as a fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance acting as host for Regionals. In 2005, Hultquist coached the Tribe, including two-time All-American Mat Cloer to the NCAA Elite Eight for the first time ever. Entering his ninth season at Florida State, Hultquist first began his coaching career as an assistant coach at the University of Texas. While working under legendary coach Dave Snyder, Hultquist coached nine All-Americans, helped lead the Longhorns to six conference titles and made it to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 in each of his eight years. Hultquist began his tennis career at Penn State where he was a four-year letterman and team captain in 1986. 

 

Mat Cloer - Assistant Coach and All-American

One of Florida State's most decorated players, Mat Cloer now works with the team as the new volunteer assistant coach. Cloer finished his career as a two-time ACC Player of the Year and the first ever All-American singles player in school history. After his collegiate career, he took his talents to the pro circuit reaching a world ranking of 780 during his professional career.

Dom Lausic - USPTA Coach and Sports Psychologist

Dom is currently in the process of acquiring his PhD in sports psychology at Florida State . He works exclusively with the Florida State Men’s Tennis Team as well. He has been instrumental in developing techniques to help players control their emotions and prepare their minds for elite level competition. Dom is also a USPTA certified Tennis Professional

 

Dave Plettl - Strength and Conditioning Coach

Dave has been the head strength coach for the FSU Men’s Tennis Team for the past seven years. Dave also trains current NFL players, professional golfers, and works with the Lady Seminole Basketball Team. Dave is the Co-Founder of Titus Sports Training in Tallahassee. Dave has worked with the Seminole High Performance Camps for the past 4 years.
